Julie Owono

Julie Owono is in charge of the Africa Desk at Internet Sans Frontières, a Paris-based organisation that promotes Digital freedoms, and Internet as a tool for change. She led several crowdsourcing projects on the African continent and recently launched Feowl, an open data platform that produces data on electricity supply in Douala, Cameroon. She is a columnist for Al Jazeera English and is often solicited by International and Pan African TV medias an expert on political and social issues in the Gulf of Guinea. She was invited as a speaker at the Small Media Symposium at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London and was adjudicator for 2012 Telkom Highway Africa New Media Award. Julie Owono holds a Master degree in International Law from the Sorbonne Law School and worked as a project manager at the International Organization for Migration in the Lao PDR in 2009.
